Kunimitsu

KU-NI-MIT-SU, sister of Mitsubishi, LOL I was joking.

One of my most recently rendered model, Kunimitsu. Kunimitsu is a character in the Tekken fighting game series, origined from the empire of Rising Sun: Japan, a thief with Manji fighting style and also a former member of the Manji Clan.

Wearing a Kitsune mask, Kunimitsu is also known as “The Cat Devil”. She is a former member of the Manji Ninja Clan led by Yoshimitsu, but betrayed the clan for personal benefit. She entered the first King of Iron Fist Tournament intending to steal Michelle Chang’s pendant which was supposed to have special powers. Kunimitsu, fearing the wrath of the vengeful Michelle, went into hiding.

Trivia
- Kunimitsu’s profile in Tekken states that she is male. This was changed from Tekken 2 onwards.
- According to an art book that came with a special edition of Tekken 6, there are conflicting rumors as to whether there is a beautiful woman or a monster under the mask. In Tekken Tag Tournament 2, she appears to be beautiful, but may be scarred, as seen in close-ups.
- A similar mask appears as an applicable item in Soul Calibur IV.
- Kunimitsu’s mask is called the Kitsune mask. Though, in Soul Calibur III and IV, it is called Fox Mask.
- Her name was possibly named after former Japanese motorcycle racer, F1 Driver, 24 Hours of Le Mans Driver, and Japanese Formula 2 Driver, Kunimitsu Takahashi.
- In Tekken 6, it is possible to customize Zafina (in her secondary outfit changed to purple; customized red hair with a pony tail; and assassin’s mask) to look like Kunimitsu. Also, Nina can be customized as Kunimitsu.
- Kunimitsu is seen in the intro to Tekken: The Motion Picture, along with other fighters that don’t have a role in the movie.
